MI5’s maxim is that society is 'four meals away from anarchy'. In other words, the security agency believes that Britain could be quickly reduced to large-scale disorder, including looting and rioting in the event of a catastrophe that stops the supply of food..."

Its totally true. Do you go to work in the morning if you haven't had breakfast? or if you haven't eaten the night before?
I see a similarity with us in flocks of pigeons and shoals of fish. When there is a buildup of energy, it attracts fish, pigeons, people (to cities, industrial centres etc) and you get a subsequent dissipation of the flock, shoal, city when the food runs out. We are no different.
As a british citizen, it terrifies me that there aren't even any survival blogs or groups who have emergency prep as a consideration. No government can hold a country of >10million together if food becomes a critical issue. It makes local food production a no-brainer.
