Violent Riots Over Rising Food Prices In Mozambican Capital: "South African media report at least seven people have been killed in neighboring Mozambique during riots over rising food prices.
The South African Embassy has been closed as well as the road to Maputo, the capital. Airline flights also have been canceled, leaving many South Africans stranded in the popular tourist attraction.
“There have been sporadic incidents of stoning and blockades of the roads in the vicinity of Maputo, including the airport ... the embassy has been temporarily closed as a result,” said Dikgang Moopeloa, South Africa’s ambassador.
The fall of the Mozambican currency, the metical, against the South African rand, from 4.3 in March to 5, has made imports, including food more expensive.
The rioting began after the government announced prices for essentials would be raised as much as 30 percent next week..."

So, when your comment doesn't appear immediately, *DO NOT* throw a hissy-fit and assume I'm refusing negative comments (yes, it really happened). I approve pretty much everything that isn't obvious SPAM, negative or not, and I promise you that will include your hissy-fit comments, accusing me of a grand conspiracy to squash dissenting ideas (also really happened). The result, of course, being that you will look like a fool, and the rest of us will laugh heartily at your stupidity.
