Inexpensive Perimeter Alarm
Inexpensive perimeter alarm | ModernSurvivalOnline.com:
"Security after TEOTWAWKI (The End of the World as We Know It) will be important. Depending upon your location – methods used to be aware of 'trespassers' will vary. For those on a budget – I have discovered a very inexpensive method to provide a decent alert when a passerby trips the alarm.
The main component is a window/door alarm that can be purchased at your local Dollar Tree for $1.00 each. These alarms are very loud (90 decibels). They contain a simple on-off switch and work via a corresponding piece that when moved away from the main unit – activates the alarm. Below are the step-by-step instructions on how I made one..."
Can anyone make any sense out of his description?
ReplyDeleteObviously it is missing his "step by step" instructions on how he would utilize it. Since the units are already made, ready to use what is there left to do excepting to install it on a door or window casing?
ReplyDeleteYou COULD rig it with a trip wire connected to the switch to turn it on. But why? A trip wire works much easier on the trigger of a air horn!
The item in question has been around for ages in the dollar stores, and DOES work, it is compact and is loud. BUT, it uses batteries that are not too easy to keep charged. So, for me it would not exactly be a waste of time, but just auxilary to a better method of alarm.
