Woman Faces Misdemeanor Charge for Vegetable Garden

Julie Bass of Oak Park Faces Misdemeanor Charge for Vegetable Garden: "'The price of organic food is kind of through the roof,' said Julie Bass.

So, why not grow your own? However, Bass' garden is a little unique because it's in her front yard...

... Bass' cool garden has landed her in hot water with the City of Oak Park. Code enforcement gave her a warning, then a ticket and now she's been charged with a misdemeanor..."

  1. Say, do you think if she refused to pay the ticket, that the city would have her put in jail?
    What a crock!
This is just another way for cities to get money from citizens to fund all their pet projects, and to make criminals of American citizens!
Recall all the politicians in this city. I think the codes people get a commission on each ticket they give out.
In my stupid city, codes people were giving out tickets to business owners that put out flags in front of their businesses. Codes people claimed it would cause car drivers to cause accidents seeing the flags! WTF??
When asked by business owners what law was broken, they couldn't cite one but still gave out exspensive tickets.

So, when your comment doesn't appear immediately, *DO NOT* throw a hissy-fit and assume I'm refusing negative comments (yes, it really happened). I approve pretty much everything that isn't obvious SPAM, negative or not, and I promise you that will include your hissy-fit comments, accusing me of a grand conspiracy to squash dissenting ideas (also really happened). The result, of course, being that you will look like a fool, and the rest of us will laugh heartily at your stupidity.
