Al Gore, Agenda 21 And Population Control

Al Gore, Agenda 21 And Population Control: "Imagine going to sleep one night and waking up many years later in a totally different world. In this futuristic world, literally everything you do is tightly monitored and controlled by control freak bureaucrats in the name of 'sustainable development' and with the goal of promoting 'the green agenda'. An international ruling body has centralized global control over all human activity. What you eat, what you drink, where you live, how warm or cold your home can be and how much fuel you can use is determined by them. Anyone that dissents or that tries to rebel against the system is sent off for 're-education'. The human population is 90 percent lower than it is today in this futuristic society, and all remaining humans have been herded into tightly constricted cities which are run much like prisons. Does all of that sound good to you? Well, this is what Agenda 21 is all about.

Yes, I know all this sounds like a plot from a science fiction novel. But it is actually real. 178 nations have signed on to Agenda 21. "Eco-prophets" such as Al Gore travel all over the world teaching us how wonderful "sustainable development" will be. This agenda is being pushed in our schools, at our universities, on our televisions and in our movies.

So exactly what is Agenda 21? The following is how the United Nations defines Agenda 21....

Agenda 21 is a comprehensive plan of action to be taken globally, nationally and locally by organizations of the United Nations System, Governments, and Major Groups in every area in which human impacts on the environment.

When you start doing deep research into Agenda 21, you will find that describing it as a "comprehensive plan" is an understatement. Virtually all forms of human activity impact the environment..."

Editorial: Was Fast And Furious A Gun-Control Plot?

Editorial: Was Fast And Furious A Gun-Control Plot? - Investors.com: "Rather than a botched attempt to catch criminals, was the ATF program actually an attempt to advance gun-control efforts by an administration that has blamed Mexican violence on easy access to U.S. weapons?...

... ATF agent Olindo James Casa said that 'on several occasions I personally requested to interdict or seize firearms, but I was always ordered to stand down and not to seize the firearms.'

Yet, as we've noted, gun-tracking operations stopped at the border. That seems odd if the purpose was to catch gun traffickers and their drug-lord bosses. It makes sense, however, if the real purpose was to perpetuate, in the interests of pursuing the administration's gun-control agenda, what Bob Owens of Pajamas Media calls the '90% lie.'

Unwilling to guarantee a secure southern border, and as part of a campaign to reinstate an expired assault weapons ban, the administration has charged that much of Mexico's gun violence is our fault. Both governments have pushed the myth that 90% of weapons confiscated by Mexican authorities originate in the U.S.

Fox News has reported that, according to ATF Special Agent William Newell, Mexico sent about 11,000 guns to the U.S. for tracing in 2007-08, out of about 35,000 confiscated. Of that 11,000, 6,000 were successfully traced. And of that number, 5,114, or 90%, were found to have originated in the U.S.

Weapons that originated in foreign countries are not sent to the U.S. for tracing. Neither are weapons of Mexican army deserters or those stolen from armories.

Bill McMahon, ATF deputy assistant director, testified that of 100,000 weapons recovered by Mexican authorities, only 18,000 were made, sold or imported from the U.S. And of those 18,000, just 7,900 came from sales by licensed gun dealers. That's 8%, not 90%."

Ocean Presents Symptoms of Major Mass Extinctions

Ocean presents symptoms of major mass extinctions - English pravda.ru: "Under international study, marine species are at risk of entering a phase of unprecedented extinction

A new study indicates that marine ecosystems are facing even greater dangers than estimated so far by scientists, and are at risk of entering a phase of species extinction unprecedented in human history.

The survey was conducted by specialists who are part of the International Program on the State of the Ocean (IPSO, its acronym), an entity formed by scientists and other experts. The research brought together experts from different disciplines, including environmentalists specializing in coral reefs, scientists and toxicologists who specialize in fishing.

They concluded that factors such as overfishing, pollution and climate change are acting together in a way that had not been anticipated..."

The Post-Antibiotic Age

The Post-Antibiotic Age: "Megan McArdle has a rather grim post about bacterial antibiotic resistance:

The superbugs have not only gotten bad fast–from “not really an issue” in 1980 to a major problem today–but they seem to be getting badder faster, as they merrily borrow resistance-conferring genes from each other. Researchers now say they’re seeing resistance show up in the lab, before they even put the stuff into people.

Of course, the most worrying thing is not the effect on the budget. It’s the effect on the people. A world without antibiotics is a world of vast suffering and early death.

Unfortunately, there is no easy solution to this problem and a consideration of the history of antibiotics and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) may explain why..."

E.coli Outbreak: Why the Scientific Community Is Terrified

E.coli outbreak: Why the scientific community is terrified - English pravda.ru: "A new and deadly multi-resistant strain of E.coli suddenly appears, resistant to no less than eight families of anti-biotics. Was this the result of Mother Nature herself, or can we see the evil hand of Man in this? We examine the facts and the possible implications...If it was man-made it is scary. If it is a natural development, it is terrifying.

First, the facts...

... a small percentage of those infected with the new strain of E.coli are hospitalised (5%) and of these, 3 to 5% die. While E.coli and human beings co-exist happily most of the time (it is a bacteria present in the intestines of mammals, including humans), the complication happens when different strains occur. Among these in this case is EHEC (Entero-haemorrhagic E.coli) and from this, shigatoxins or veracitotoxins can be produced and these can lead to a complication with haemorrhagic symptoms called HUS (haemo-uremic syndrome) as the infection spreads through the body affecting organs and the blood vessels. These are the more severe cases, and are a very small minority of those infected.

What is abnormal about this case?

Scientists are very worried about this particular strain (0104:H4) because it is multi-resistant. In fact, it is so multi-resistant that it would appear to have been created in a laboratory, being immune to no less than eight types of antibiotics. If this is the result of natural mutation, it is even more scary because it seems to have the capacity to produce enzymes called Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamase (ESBL) which allow the bacteria to resist the type of powerful antibiotics usually used in hospitals.

It is, therefore, a deadly super-bacteria and behaves in the same way as many biological weapons developed in military laboratories around the world.

So what happened?

It is impossible to say. So far the finger has been pointed at Spanish cucumbers (wrongly and irresponsibly, they are not the source) and at a farm in Germany growing bean sprouts. Strangely, this has been identified as the source, yet the tests came back negative. Why the attempt to sweep everything under the carpet without concrete evidence?

The conspiracy theorists will say it is further proof that 'they' are trying to poison us all in 'their' quest to reduce the world's population to one billion people. The problem with this theory is that since our world is based upon an economic model which thrives on selling products, it does not make much sense to kill all the clients.

We are therefore faced with two possibilities: either it was man-made (in which case it is frightening. Was it a biological weapon which was hijacked? Was it produced by terrorists wishing to destroy the economy of a country that supplies agricultural produce to the European Union...which country?) or it developed naturally (in which case it is even more frightening)..."

Stronger Ocean Currents Speed Melting Of Antarctic Ice

Nano Patents and Innovations: Stronger Ocean Currents Speed Melting Of Antarctic Ice: "Stronger ocean currents beneath West Antarctica's Pine Island Glacier Ice Shelf are eroding the ice from below, speeding the melting of the glacier as a whole, according to a new study in Nature Geoscience. A growing cavity beneath the ice shelf has allowed more warm water to melt the ice, the researchers say—a process that feeds back into the ongoing rise in global sea levels. The glacier is currently sliding into the sea at a clip of four kilometers (2.5 miles) a year, while its ice shelf is melting at about 80 cubic kilometers a year - 50 percent faster than it was in the early 1990s - the paper estimates..."

Experts Say Earthquake Surely Will Devastate the Northwest

Experts say an earthquake surely will devastate the Northwest | OregonLive.com: "Experts armed with seabed core samples and findings from Japan are ready to place odds on the likelihood of a giant earthquake rocking the Northwest.

Within the next 50 years, they say, Washington and northern Oregon face a 10 to 15 percent probability of an offshore quake powerful enough to kill thousands and launch a tsunami that would level coastal cities. Off southern Oregon, the probability of an 8-or-higher magnitude earthquake is greater -- 37 percent, according to Oregon State University's Chris Goldfinger, one of the world's top experts on subduction-zone quakes.

Goldfinger and other authorities who spoke at a Portland conference this week say the Northwest is dangerously unprepared for a massive quake they consider inevitable at some point. At least 300,000 Oregon children attend school in buildings vulnerable to collapse when the Big One comes..."

The Chinese Government Is Buying Up Economic Assets And Huge Tracts Of Land All Over The United States

The Chinese Government Is Buying Up Economic Assets And Huge Tracts Of Land All Over The United States: "In 2011, America is for sale and the communist Chinese are eager buyers. The Chinese government is using sovereign wealth funds and Chinese state-owned enterprises to buy up economic assets and huge tracts of land all over the United States. Many of our politicians hail all of this 'foreign investment' as something that is 'good for America', while many others see something much more sinister going on here. In any event, this is a trend that is rapidly accelerating and that is causing great concern among patriotic Americans..."

Suspended Agitation

Suspended Agitation - Clusterfuck Nation: "Woe is unto the world. It doesn't know whether to shit or go blind. The rule of law has been replaced by Murphy's Law. The story in Greece gets more and more curious. One of the latest proposals is to ask holders of Greek bonds to go along with a voluntary rollover, meaning we will pay you on Tuesday for a hamburger today, even though we already owe you for ten years of weekly hamburgers.

Odd how the financial innovation never ceases. This last great new idea: that bonds never really have to pay off, will do wonders for the bond market everywhere. People will clamor for bonds that come with no clear terms and probably no redemptions. Now, the buzz around the cosmic meme-sphere is saying fuggedabowt Greece, we're gonna do the same thing with Portugal and its sillyass bonds. Enter China.

Europe is about to enjoy the greatest monetary Chinese fire drill ever staged. Wen Jiabao will wave a magic wand and the Euro will fly above mundane reality on dragon wings...

... Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs's man in Europe, Mario Draghi, will take a seat in Jean Trichet's big chair at the European Central Bank around November of this year. It was Goldman Sachs, apparently, that erected a giant credit default swap house of cards for Europe to live in happily-ever-after - except in the event of a default accident, in which case Goldman Sachs would receive all the money ever printed on God's green Earth, plus commissions, premiums, penalty payouts, interest, and bonuses... and homeless Europe would then be welcome to take a flying fuck at a rolling donut... Personally, I don't see how the various players can delay some sort of crisis until November. The European currency experiment is a bust and too many big banks are just plain insolvent...

... Don't get the idea that the USA can just occupy a grandstand seat and stuff its fat face with Cheez Doodles while the current act plays out in the center ring of the world financial circus. Plenty of intermingled American interests depend on how things work out over there, not the least of which is the fact that the International Monetary Fund is actually a proxy American bail-out operation..."

Killer Stars from Deep Black Space Could Threaten Earth

Killer stars from deep black space threaten Earth - English pravda.ru: "Outer space poses a threat to the Solar System. This time it was declared not by homegrown advocates of the near doomsday, but solid astrophysicists...

... researchers have compiled a list of stars that may represent a potential threat to Earth, for example, by approaching the Sun and impacting objects around it.

It turned out that of the 40,000 red dwarfs (objects of this class are most common in the universe) nearest to us, 18 are quite capable of 'attacking' the solar system.

One of the most dangerous objects is the Oort cloud, a giant bubble containing billions of ice and rock boulders. Researchers believe that these objects are constantly circulating through the solar system as comets, leaving deep craters when coming into contact with planets. They fell on Earth as well. Although the Oort cloud is located at a distance of 50,000 to 100,000 astronomical units from the Sun, under the influence of stellar gravity, planets in our solar system, including Earth, may undergo an active comet bombardment..."

Nuclear Accident May Be Imminent As Flood Berm Bursts at Fort Calhoun Nebraska Nuclear Plant

BREAKING: Nuclear accident may be imminent as flood berm bursts at Fort Calhoun Nebraska nuclear plant - 21st Century Wire: "While the mainstream media guardians have been napping, we published a comprehensive article warning the public of the dangers present at Ft Calhoun. Now we are told that the flood berm has now collapsed after being punctured by 'an unidentified piece of machinery'. Our big media stars and knuckle-dragging elected officials should be reminded here that this plant’s rod pool holds 20 years worth of spent fuel rods from all plants in the state plus 1/3 of of the rods that were removed during a recent refueling that was just accomplished. Now it appears that back-up generators are working to cool the nuclear materials (sound familiar?). OPPD spokesman Jeff Hanson said the transfer was precautionary because of water leaking around the concrete berm surrounding the main transformers. If they loose cooling around the fuel rods, this will be as bad- or worse, than the meltdown at Fukushima, Japan. This story could be reaching a critical climax, and there is nothing but silence. Don’t say we didn’t warn you, although we are praying this situation is not going to escalate..."

Study Shows Rural Life is Better: Living in a Concrete Jungle Really Can Be More Stressful and Make You Vulnerable to Depression

A rural life is better: Living in a concrete jungle really can be more stressful and make you vulnerable to depression | Mail Online: "Scientists have confirmed what every urbanite has long suspected – life in the city is more stressful.

Researchers have shown that the parts of the brain dealing with stress and emotion are affected by living among the crowds.

The findings help shed light on why those who are born and raised in urban areas are more likely to suffer from anxiety, depression and schizophrenia than those brought up in the countryside..."

Medicinal Herb - Elderberry Flowers

Homesteading At Redtail Ridge: "Elderberry flowers are medicinal. I dried some last year for the first time. I never did make tea out of it. It ended up being chicken food. ..... I should have used it when I had that nasty cold. Elderberry flower is suppose to get rid of all that upper respiratory phlegm just like mullein does. It also helps with fevers, making it a great flu remedy, I know that's what was in the back of my head for keeping it and then I never did get the flu...yea! I'm drying more this year, specifically in case of flu..."

Egypt: Christian Girls Kidnapped and ‘Sold’

Egypt: Christian Girls Kidnapped and ‘Sold’ | FrontPage Magazine: "... The two girls, Christine Azat (aged 16) and Nancy Magdi (aged 14) were on their way to church Sunday, June 12, when they were seized. Their abductors demanded $200,000 Egyptian pounds for their release. The people of the region quickly put their savings together and came up with the ransom money; but when they tried to give it to the kidnappers, they rejected it, saying they had already “sold” the girls off to another group which requires $12 million Egyptian pounds to return them..."

Jim Rogers: Obama Should Resign Before Inflation Sparks Unrest

Jim Rogers: Obama Should Resign Before Inflation Sparks Unrest: "Investment guru Jim Rogers says President Barack Obama should resign — and warns that inflation will only continue to soar, putting the United States at risk of the same civil unrest that has struck Greece.

Rogers says that what Obama 'should do is take an ax — no, not an ax — take a chain saw to spending in the U.S.'

Rogers tells Bloomberg Business Week that 'we have got to balance the budget. We have got to pay off the debt, somehow, someday.'..."

McCain Warns of ‘Flashpoint’ in the South China Sea

McCain Warns of ‘Flashpoint’ in the South China Sea - Blog: "Tensions between China and its less powerful neighbors over territorial claims in the South China Sea could erupt into conflict, Sen. John McCain said recently.

'I am increasingly concerned … that the South China Sea is becoming a flashpoint,' said McCain, R-Ariz., at a June 20 Center for Strategic and International Studies forum on China-U.S. relations, in Washington, D.C.

China has claimed a large, U-shaped section of the South China Sea since the 1940s, which is commonly referred to as the 'nine-dotted line.' It claims all islands in the sea as sovereign territory — including surrounding waters — as an exclusive economic zone. It includes the Spratlys, an island chain that has rich fishing grounds, along with the possibility of oil reserves.

In early June, Chinese fishing boats and Vietnamese petroleum exploration vessels were involved in a skirmish in the waters, resulting in a diplomatic row between the two nations.

McCain criticized China’s increasingly assertive actions to defend the nine-dotted line. 'One of the main forces exacerbating tensions in the South China Sea … is the behavior of China and the unsubstantiated territorial claims that it seeks to advance,' he said..."

Swiss Renew Push for Bomb Shelters

Suddenly Switzerland sounds a little like Heaven to me.

Swiss Renew Push for Bomb Shelters - WSJ.com: "Switzerland, already home to more nuclear bunkers per capita than any other nation, has decided to pad its lead.

Mountainous and politically neutral, Switzerland has more than 300,000 bunkers, enough to shelter all 7.6 million Swiss with one million places to spare. But two decades after the end of the Cold War, the Swiss government says it needs more.

A 1978 law requires every new building to have a bomb shelter, and even as the fears of Armageddon that spurred the original law are now a distant memory, the Swiss have been adding 50,000 new spots a year. As recently as a few months ago, however, it looked like the Swiss were ready to stop digging...

... leftist politicians in Switzerland have mounted a 15-year campaign to abolish the law, and appeared to have victory in their grasp this spring: On March 9, Switzerland's lower house approved a motion to kill the old law. But two days later, an earthquake and tsunami in Japan crippled the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear complex and spread radioactive fallout across northeastern Japan. The leftists' push foundered.

In May, Switzerland's government decided to close the country's nuclear power plants by 2034. Even so, earlier this month, Swiss Parliament also decided the nation did in fact need more radiation-resistant refuges.

It is a particular Swissness that impels the rugged, conflict-averse country to press its global lead in bomb shelters. Preparedness is second nature in a country that popularized pocket knives with corkscrews, tweezers and toothpicks.

Long after other European countries have scrapped obligatory military service, Swiss men must still serve. Switzerland has more guns per capita than Iraq and Lebanon, trailing only the U.S. and Yemen. And while it hasn't fought a war in hundreds of years, it maintains thousands of cavernous mountain fortifications to fend off an attack..."

China Wants To Construct A 50 Square Mile Self-Sustaining City South Of Boise, Idaho

China Wants To Construct A 50 Square Mile Self-Sustaining City South Of Boise, Idaho: "Thanks to the trillions of dollars that the Chinese have made flooding our shores with cheap products, China is now in a position of tremendous economic power. So what is China going to do with all of that money? One thing that they have decided to do is to buy up pieces of the United States and set up 'special economic zones' inside our country from which they can continue to extend their economic domination. One of these 'special economic zones' would be just south of Boise, Idaho and the Idaho government is eager to give it to them. China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach for short) plans to construct a 'technology zone' south of Boise Airport which would ultimately be up to 50 square miles in size. The Chinese Communist Party is the majority owner of Sinomach, so the 10,000 to 30,000 acre 'self-sustaining city' that is being planned would essentially belong to the Chinese government. The planned 'self-sustaining city' in Idaho would include manufacturing facilities, warehouses, retail centers and large numbers of homes for Chinese workers. Basically it would be a slice of communist China dropped right into the middle of the United States..."

Getting Ready for the Next Big Solar Storm

Getting Ready for the Next Big Solar Storm - NASA Science: "In Sept. 1859, on the eve of a below-average1 solar cycle, the sun unleashed one of the most powerful storms in centuries. The underlying flare was so unusual, researchers still aren't sure how to categorize it. The blast peppered Earth with the most energetic protons in half-a-millennium, induced electrical currents that set telegraph offices on fire, and sparked Northern Lights over Cuba and Hawaii.

This week, officials have gathered at the National Press Club in Washington DC to ask themselves a simple question: What if it happens again?..."

Top 5 Places NOT To Be When The Dollar Collapses

Top 5 Places NOT To Be When The Dollar Collapses | Don't Tread On Me: "The dollar collapse will be the single largest event in human history. This will be the first event that will touch every single living person in the world. All human activity is controlled by money. Our wealth, our work, our food, our government, even our relationships are affected by money. No money in human history has had as much reach in both breadth and depth as the dollar. It is the de facto world currency. All other currency collapses will pale in comparison to this big one. All other currency crises have been regional and there were other currencies for people to grasp on to. This collapse will be global and it will bring down not only the dollar but all other fiat currencies,as they are fundamentally no different. The collapse of currencies will lead to the collapse of ALL paper assets. The repercussions to this will have incredible results worldwide..."

Power Grid Change May Disrupt Clocks, Appliances

Power grid change may disrupt clocks - USATODAY.com: "A yearlong experiment with the nation's electric grid could mess up traffic lights, security systems and some computers — and make plug-in clocks and appliances like programmable coffeemakers run up to 20 minutes fast.

'A lot of people are going to have things break and they're not going to know why,' said Demetrios Matsakis, head of the time service department at the U.S. Naval Observatory, one of two official timekeeping agencies in the federal government.

Since 1930, electric clocks have kept time based on the rate of the electrical current that powers them. If the current slips off its usual rate, clocks run a little fast or slow. Power companies now take steps to correct it and keep the frequency of the current — and the time — as precise as possible.

The group that oversees the U.S. power grid is proposing an experiment that would allow more frequency variation than it does now without corrections, according to a company presentation obtained by The Associated Press.

Officials say they want to try this to make the power supply more reliable, save money and reduce what may be needless efforts. The test is tentatively set to start in mid-July..."

The Collapse of Nations All By The Hand Of Corrupt Bankers

The Collapse of Nations All By The Hand Of Corrupt Bankers : "As far as we can discern the US Treasury thus far has spent and borrowed about $100 billion from the federal pension accounts. Unless there is a vote on the cash debt extension prior to August 2nd, government will probably have borrowed some $250 billion to $300 billion. The Treasury is paying virtually no interest on this debt. Three-month Treasury bills are currently yielding zero percent. Our question is how will the funds be generated to fulfill the Treasury’s obligation to the pension fund? What happens if on August 2nd if legislation is not passed? Does this go on forever?...

... The current situation regarding the state of recovery in the US has turned from precarious to dismal and as we predicted a year ago May we will have to be treated to QE3 something no one really wants, but as we said before it is inevitable. The Fed and their controllers, the member bank owners of the Fed, know the present approach doesn’t work and it is only a matter of time, as a result of their policies, when more stimulus will be needed, which in turn leads to more inflation.

Due to the current state of affairs Fed Chairman Bernanke has been making one appearance on TV after another. He gets grilled over and over again and he doesn’t like the public reception at all. He shouldn’t, as more and more observers see that two quantitative easings haven’t worked. They cost at least $3.6 trillion in funds created out of thin air, and all they have done is prolong the agony. The flip side is the policy has caused higher inflation. What else can one expect when deficits astound and the Fed has to buy $1.6 trillion in Treasury bonds. A large percentage of this debt is used to wage perpetual war for perpetual peace. During this process the President has bypassed the Constitution and is deliberately repressing the freedoms of American citizens. There no longer is a separation of powers, but virtual dictatorship bought and paid for by Wall Street and banking.

It should be firmly implanted in your mind that your masters in government and those controlling government brazenly and arrogantly believe that they know better what is good for you, than you do. That is why when they speak to you their answers are dripping with condescension - as if to say, how dare you question what we tell you. Fed Chairman, Mr. Bernanke, is a perfect example of this. He, others and his predecessors have created a false economy based upon perpetual debt and upon money and credit being created out of thin air. Today that is accompanied with zero interest rates, a combination that in time can only bring a falling dollar, inflation and a collapsing economy. Mr. Bernanke appears to believe that an increased supply of money has little or no effect on the comparison between money and the prices of goods. He has to be living in a fairy tale land..."

National Debt

National Debt: "It really is hard to find the words to describe the true horror of the national debt. The U.S. government has been on the greatest debt binge in all of human history, and a day of reckoning is coming that is going to be so painful that it is going to shock America to the core. We have lived so far above our means for so long that none of us really has any concept of what 'normal' is like anymore. The United States has enjoyed the greatest party in the history of the world, but now this decades-old party is ending and the bills are coming due. It was Dick Cheney who famously said that 'deficits don't matter'. Well, try telling that to the nation of Greece right about now. The horror that Greece is just beginning to experience is a preview of what is going to happen to us as well. Only when it happens to us it is going to be so much worse, because when we go down we are going to bring the entire global financial system down with us.

What we have done to future generations is beyond sickening. Previous generations entrusted to us the greatest economic machine in the history of the world and we destroyed it. Now we are leaving to our children and our grandchildren an economic future that has been totally wiped out and a national debt of more than 14 trillion dollars that we expect them to repay.

In Washington D.C. these days, there is a lot of talk about the debt ceiling. But whatever the politicians do, it is not going to solve our debt problems. If the debt ceiling does not get raised, we move the financial pain into the present. World financial markets would crash and that would be followed by a devastating economic nightmare.

If we do raise the debt ceiling, that will 'kick the can down the road' a little bit farther. However, world financial markets will still crash eventually and our eventual economic nightmare will be even worse..."

Cold Fusion Achieved?

Directory:Andrea A. Rossi Cold Fusion Generator (E-Cat) - PESWiki: "Eng. Andrea A. Rossi and Professor Sergio Focardi of the University of Bologna (one of the oldest universities in the world [1]), have announced to the world that they have a cold fusion device capable of producing more than 10 kilowatts of heat power, while only consuming a fraction of that. On January 14, 2011, they gave the Worlds' first public demonstration of a nickel-hydrogen fusion reactor capable of producing a few kilowatts of thermal energy. At its peak, it is capable of generating 15,000 watts with just 400 watts input required. In a following test the same output was achieved but with only 80 watts of continual input.

They don't always use the term 'cold fusion' do describe the process, but often refer to it as an amplifier or catalyzer process..."

Cold Fusion #1 Claims NASA Chief: "Dennis Bushnell is a Chief scientist at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia. He is also an inventor, author, and has been a consultant to countless government and military agencies. A few of these include the DOD, Air Force, DARPA, and the NRC...

... he addressed what he called 'Low Energy Nuclear Reactions' as being the most interesting and promising alternative energy technology being developed. In fact, it was first on his list, ahead of salt water agriculture, cyanobacteria, energy conservation, geothermal power, nano-plastic solar panels, solar thermal concentrators, and high altitude wind power...

... During the interview, Bushnell specifically mentioned Andrea Rossi's E-Cat (Energy Catalyzer) technology, and seemed very supportive of it. He reviewed the tests that have been performed and the large amount of excess heat produced. At one point he made a remark scientists across the world should notice...

'I think we are almost over the "we do not understand it' problem. I think we are almost over the 'this does not produce anything useful' problem. I think this will go forward fairly rapidly now. If it does, this is capable of, by itself, completely changing geo-economics, geo-politics, and solving climate issues.'

Despite his positive statements about LENR, he also made a few statements that indicate his lack of ability to admit that nuclear fusion at low temperatures could be a reality. He stated that all of the so called, "cold fusion" experiments performed over the last twenty years did not produce fusion reactions. His position is that they produced energy via a process called 'Widom Larsen' theory, that does not involve fusion at all, but only 'beta decay'..."

My Response: Regardless of whether it is true cold fusion or beta decay seems immaterial to me. If excess heat energy is created than you have a positive EROEI (Energy Returned On Energy Invested), period. Very interesting.

Couple Homesteading in the Woods Using Shipping Containers As Housing

Have container, will settle: Couple homesteading in the woods of Ellsworth with a unique spin on housing — Maine News — Bangor Daily News: "Try as they might, Trevor Seip and Jennifer Sansosti cannot contain their excitement.

The young engaged couple recently shipped their lives from out of state to a rustic, 63-acre property... where they hope to build a home and future together.

They are not the first to move to rural Maine from a more heavily populated part of the East Coast — Pennsylvania in their case — with dreams of homesteading in the woods...

... But there aren’t many who do so while living inside former marine shipping containers. Seip and Sansosti, both in their late 20s, have two, each about 20 feet long and 8 feet wide and high, that they have modified into living units, complete with electricity and running water. They have spent much of the past year modifying the containers, which they bought on eBay for a total of $1,500... This spring they had them delivered to their former logging property...

... Inside one of the two containers, which they insulated, plumbed and wired themselves, is a table and bed that fold up against the wall, a cushioned bench seat, a sink, a camp stove, a wall-mounted propane heater, and a bathroom complete with composting toilet and full-size shower. In the other is a large storage closet and a folding futon that converts into a couch. Each has one or two windows and conventional residential doors...

... Seip and Sansosti designed their living units to exist off the grid. They installed energy-efficient LED lights, which they power off batteries, and they collect and then filter their water from the nearby stream or from a rain barrel they have on the roof. They already own electricity-producing solar panels, but are waiting to have the containers mounted on frost-proof concrete posts before they install and connect them. They also hope to erect a residential wind turbine at some point.

After the containers are set on the posts, facing each other a few feet apart end-to-end, they plan to install a sod roof across both that covers the space in between. A greenhouse, wood stove and adobe structures for additional living space also are part of their master plan...

... More information about the couples’ endeavor can be found online at their blog, www.thearkhaus.com..."

Soylent Green: Scientist Make Edible Artificial Steaks From Human Feces

Well, I have officially heard and seen it all. Overpopulation has so outstripped our ability to produce food (and is still getting inexorably worse) that we're creating ways to eat our own poop!

Says the article:

"The 'meat' is 63% proteins, 25% carbohydrates, 3% lipids and 9% minerals.

The researchers color the poop meat red with food coloring and enhance the flavor with soy protein. Initial tests have people saying it even tastes like beef."

Wonder how they convinced someone to taste it? :)

12 Things That The Mainstream Media Is Being Strangely Quiet About Right Now

12 Things That The Mainstream Media Is Being Strangely Quiet About Right Now: "As the mainstream media continues to be obsessed with Anthony Weiner and his bizarre adventures on Twitter, much more serious events are happening around the world that are getting very little attention. In America today, if the mainstream media does not cover something it is almost as if it never happened. Right now, the worst nuclear disaster in human history continues to unfold in Japan , U.S. nuclear facilities are being threatened by flood waters, the U.S. military is bombing Yemen, gigantic cracks in the earth are appearing all over the globe and the largest wildfire in Arizona history is causing immense devastation. But Anthony Weiner, Bristol Palin and Miss USA are what the mainstream media want to tell us about and most Americans are buying it.

In times like these, it is more important than ever to think for ourselves. The corporate-owned mainstream media is not interested in looking out for us. Rather, they are going to tell us whatever fits with the agenda that their owners are pushing..."

'Shocking' Report Warns Of Mass Extinction From Current Rate Of Marine Distress

State Of The Ocean: 'Shocking' Report Warns Of Mass Extinction From Current Rate Of Marine Distress: "If the current actions contributing to a multifaceted degradation of the world's oceans aren't curbed, a mass extinction unlike anything human history has ever seen is coming, an expert panel of scientists warns in an alarming new report.

The preliminary report from the International Programme on the State of the Ocean (IPSO) is the result of the first-ever interdisciplinary international workshop examining the combined impact of all of the stressors currently affecting the oceans, including pollution, warming, acidification, overfishing and hypoxia.

'The findings are shocking,' Dr. Alex Rogers, IPSO's scientific director, said in a statement released by the group. 'This is a very serious situation demanding unequivocal action at every level. We are looking at consequences for humankind that will impact in our lifetime, and worse, our children's and generations beyond that'..."

Chinese Military Says US Launched Global War To Bring Down China, Promises Retaliation :

Chinese Military Says US Launched Global War To Bring Down China, Promises Retaliation :: "The Chinese military says that by inciting nations around the world into protests and revolution as well as attempting to do the same in China, the US has started a global internet war that the communist nation promises to retaliate against.

Recently, the United States declared cyber attacks an act of war and said they would retaliate to cyber attacks with missiles.

Pentagon Considers Cyber Attacks To Be Acts Of War: WSJ
Cyber attacks that originate abroad can qualify as acts of war that could merit a military response by the U.S., the Pentagon has determined, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Citing a Pentagon report on cybersecurity strategy, part of which will be de-classified soon, the Wall Street Journal reported that the Pentagon has, for the first time, developed a cyber strategy that seeks to outline how the U.S. might react to cyber attacks targeted at the government, as well as critical infrastructure such as power plants, public transportation systems, financial institutions, and more.

'If you shut down our power grid, maybe we will put a missile down one of your smokestacks,' an unnamed military official told the Journal.

Top 25 Wildfires of All Time

Top 25 Wildfires of All Time: "Although some of the more commonly thought of natural disasters, such as hurricanes and earthquakes, can wipe out billions of dollars in property and take many lives, wildfires can also cause similar damage. Much like hurricanes, wildfires do have their season but have been known to crop up at many different times during the year. With more left to be learned about them, wildfires happened long before man occupied the world. All the uncertainty surrounding them can lead one to wonder with all the technology available to predict and fight fires, have they gotten better, or has a new breed of careless man from the guy who just dumps water on a campfire to the guy looking to collect insurance money just made things worse?

To judge for yourself, we have gathered the top 25 wildfires of all time below. They range from the local to the international, from the recent to the historical, and have numerous causes. Dry conditions, wind, and even the human intervention all make the list, which is ordered mostly by number of people thought to have been killed..."

Hidden Rooms Becoming More Popular

Eight Rooms, Well, Nine, but That’s Their Secret - New York Times: "ON a recent Saturday morning Cami Beghou, 13, pushed the right side of the tall, white bookcase that is built into one of the powder-pink walls in her bedroom. The bookcase, holding rows of books, a stuffed dachshund and a volleyball, silently swung outward, revealing a tiny, well-lighted room. Containing a desk, a chair and a laptop computer, it serves as her study area...

... Since March, when the Beghous moved into the house, Cami estimates that she has had about 30 friends over. Not one was able to detect the bookcase’s secret without guidance...

... hard data is not available, architects report an increase over the last five years in the number of clients installing concealed rooms.

During roughly the same period, at least four companies have come into existence producing doors that range from the very basic to the highly mechanized.

The Beghous’ architect, Charles L. Page, who is based in Winnetka, said he had designed seven other houses with hidden rooms since 2001, after designing none in his previous 40 years as a residential architect..."

Fifth Consecutive Year of Record Global Corn Harvests Will Fail to Meet Demand

Corn Stocks Plunging to 1974 Low as China Adds Brazil-Sized Crop to Demand - Bloomberg: "Even a fifth consecutive year of record global corn harvests will fail to meet demand for food, fuel and livestock feed, reducing world stockpiles to the lowest in two generations.

Consumption will rise 3 percent in the next marketing year, a 16th consecutive annual gain that saw demand jump 66 percent, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates. Inventory will drop to 47 days of use, the fewest since 1974, the data show. Waterlogged fields in the U.S., the largest exporter, will curb yields, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. says. Corn may jump 36 percent to a record $9 a bushel if conditions worsen, Morgan Stanley says.

Corn purchases are accelerating as droughts and floods limit output gains in everything from soybeans to wheat, driving the Standard & Poor’s Agriculture Index of eight commodities 60 percent higher in 12 months. China, the world’s second-biggest consumer after the U.S., will use 47 percent more than a decade ago, adding an amount greater than the entire crop of Brazil, the third-largest producer..."

Losing Faith In Our Currency: Russia to Lower U.S. Debt Holdings

Russia to Lower U.S. Debt Holdings - WSJ.com: "Russia will likely continue lowering its U.S. debt holdings as Washington struggles to contain a budget deficit and bolster a tepid economic recovery, a top aide to President Dmitry Medvedev said Saturday.

'The share of our portfolio in U.S. instruments has gone down and probably will go down further,' said Arkady Dvorkovich, chief economic aide to the president, told Dow Jones in an interview on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Russian holdings of U.S. Treasury securities fell to $125.4 billion in April 2011 from $176.3 billion in October 2010, Treasury Department data showed.

Asked if U.S. debt was as solid an investment now as it was 10 years ago, Mr. Dvorkovich said: 'On an absolute basis, yes. On a relative basis, compared to other investments, of course not.'

'When we take decisions and compare, we're not thinking in absolute terms,' he said.

Russia's financial reserves—which stood at $528 billion as of June 10—are the world's third largest, after China and Japan's. As of May, according to Russia's central bank, 47% of reserves were in dollars and 41% in euros, compared with 45.2% in dollars and 43.1% in euros on Jan. 1.

The central bank recently diversified the stash to include the Canadian dollar, which makes up 1% of the total, and plans to put 0.8% into the Australian dollar starting in September."

North Korea Tests 'Super-EMP' Nuke

North Korea Tests 'Super-EMP' Nuke: "Gary Samore, a top Obama administration national security official, warned of new sanctions if North Korea conducted a third round of nuclear tests on Monday, as reports surfaced that North Korea has miniaturized its nuclear warheads so they can be delivered by ballistic missile.

North Korea’s last round of tests, conducted in May 2009, appear to have included a “super-EMP” weapon, capable of emitting enough gamma rays to disable the electric power grid across most of the lower 48 states, says Dr. Peter Vincent Pry, a former CIA nuclear weapons analyst and president of EMPact America, a citizens lobbying group..."

African Village Uses Tech to Fight Off Rape Cult

Follow the link below to see what one African village did to fight back against marauders who victimized their community three years ago and would've continued to do so had they not seen to their own defense. Inspiring.

African Village Uses Tech to Fight Off Rape Cult | Danger Room | Wired.com: "... It was a familiar tragedy, repeated countless times across Central Africa since firebrand Christian cultist Joseph Kony created the LRA in the mid-1980s, aiming to establish a sort of voodoo theocracy in northern Uganda. Defeated in its home country, in 2005 the LRA fled westward across Sudan, Congo and Central African Republic, looting, raping, killing and mutilating as it went.

Obo was just one of hundreds of communities terrorized by the LRA. Many simply wither and die afterward.

But Obo didn’t.

Instead, Obo’s surviving villagers raised their own volunteer scout force (depicted above), armed it with homemade shotguns, and began disseminating intelligence on the LRA’s movements using the village’s sole, short-range FM radio transmitter.

The results of this do-it-yourself approach were encouraging. Since the attack three years ago, Obo has not suffered another major LRA invasion. Noting Obo’s successful strategy, Invisible Children, a California-based aid group, in March traveled into Central African Republic to help another American group, Interactive Radio for Justice, upgrade the town’s radio to a much longer-range model, further boosting the community’s self-defense capability..."

Ron Paul: Federal Reserve's Addiction

Ron Paul: Federal Reserve's Addiction - TheStreet: "The Federal Reserve is like a drug addict, according to presidential candidate and Congressman Ron Paul, notorious for his hatred of the Fed and love of gold.

In a recent interview with TheStreet, Dr. Paul likened the Fed to a drug addict unable to stop printing money as no one wanted to go through the pain of withdrawal. The libertarian Congressman, however, believes that Congress will raise the debt ceiling before August 2nd despite that fact that the U.S. is more than $14 trillion in debt, with $275 billion of interest payments due in 2011 alone, according to TreasuryDirect.gov.

According to Erik Oja, U.S. banks analyst at Standard & Poor's Equity Research, the Federal Reserve has committed, not necessarily spent, $14 trillion through its two rounds of quantitative easing programs, plus TARP and TALF, life lines for the financial system during the recession. Banks are holding excess reserves of $1.55 trillion and including their required reserves, their lending capacity is more than $1.58 trillion. As a result, if that money is loaned out then potential inflation is much higher than what is reported currently.

The Consumer Price Index for May rose 3.6%, which is substantially down from the 5.6% level seen in 2008, and specific areas of the economy are not seeing big increases. Housing prices are up just 1.2% year over year, wages rose just 0.3% in May, while apparel prices have climbed just 1%, leading many experts to believe, despite high food and energy prices, that inflation is in check.

Economists would refer to the types of inflation as cost pull versus cost push. Cost pull refers to the second round effects of inflation, like higher wages, when inflation really seeps into the economy, versus cost push which describes an inflation due solely to high commodity prices, which have resulted from high demand, and from which, there is no escape.

Dr. Paul doesn't believe in any of those theories but argues 'that's the way inflation works. Inflation is the increase in the supply of money. Sometimes it pushes some prices up and other prices can drop. So for a while it was the inflation that pushed housing prices up too high and then there is a collapse ... Where there are more market forces like in computers and technology those prices actually can drop in the midst of inflation.'

Dr. Paul sees inflation now in food and services but believes it will feed into the labor market imminently. Big-time price inflation will be the next shoe to drop for the U.S. economy, he says, as the Fed stays rooted in its money-printing-addiction. The result would be a 'downturn much worse than the stagflation of the 70's.'

The way to fix this financial disaster is to stop spending money and go back on a gold standard

Home Security - The 4 Levels of Home Fortification

Home Security - The 4 levels of home fortification: "During these uncertain economic times it is increasingly important that you take a proactive approach to home security and the protection of your loved ones. The following steps are aimed at fortifying an unoccupied home, whether at work or away for an extended time. These fortification methods follow a proven approach of defensive hardening where the property is shielded within multiple layers of defensive protection. The first protective level encompasses the area around the home, while the innermost layer of protection is deeply rooted within the home. Each layer proves increasingly resistant to those attempting unlawful intrusion..."

Practical Preparedness - Storage

Paratus Familia: Practical Preparedness - Storage: "All preppers that I know have a common problem. Storage space. It doesn't seem to matter how big your house is or how many outbuildings you have, when it comes to preparedness nuts, there is no such thing as enough storage space. We have lived in everything from a 2200 square foot house with a shop and a barn to our current 1200 square foot 'shouse' with no outbuildings (save our 40 foot shipping container) and precious little storage space. Regardless of our living situation, we never seem to have enough storage for our preparedness supplies.

Over the years, we have refined what we store and how we store it. In the beginning of our preparedness/survivalist journey, we stored anything and everything we could think of. While, to us, this seemed like great wisdom, we eventually learned that if we don't use something now, chances are, will will not use it at the end of the world. Storing 2000 pounds of buckwheat when you hate buckwheat not only is a huge waste of money, it is also a waste of storage space..."
