I came across this woman's story last night and wanted to share it around in an effort that perhaps some of you might try to help her a bit, even if it's just a few dollars. She was caught up in the horrible storms that tore through West Virginia a few months ago, and she ended-up losing her job and getting evicted as a result. She is now living in a tent with her pets in West Virginia in late October. The animals, several of which are old and sickly and have been with her their whole lives, and she refuses to just dump her "furbabies" at the shelter to live-out a terrifying and lonely few days before being put-down. They are all she has now, because her kids are all grown and moved away. Please help out if you can. I know times are tight, but even a few dollars would help make a difference. Every little bit helps. I'm personally donating $10 today, and I may try to give more, depending on how close she is to the goal amount when the drive ends on 31 October.

All comments on this blog are moderated, meaning they don't appear until approved by me. So, when your comment doesn't appear immediately, *DO NOT* throw a hissy-fit and assume I'm refusing negative comments (yes, it really happened). I approve pretty much everything that isn't obvious SPAM, negative or not, and I promise you that will include your hissy-fit comments, accusing me of a grand conspiracy to squash dissenting ideas (also really happened). The result, of course, being that you will look like a fool, and the rest of us will laugh heartily at your stupidity.

I will be happy to help out. Give the names and phone numbers of her children and I will call them and verbally kick them in the butt for not coming to her aid.
