If you can read the article at the link below, printed in a very popular Left-wing rag, and still delude yourself into believing the lie that they respect you as a free human being, then there's little hope left for you. If you bothered to do the poll at the bottom of the Daily Kos article, you'd find that 90% of the voting readers said they DID NOT WANT ALL GUNS BANNED!! So don't tell me that there is a progressive agenda to take away guns.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, I'm real tired of the name calling. Most progressives are social liberals--they do not want people telling them what to do--and that makes them sound a little bit libertarian to me.
The only thing that proves is that the average Liberal Progressive is far more enlightened on the gun issue than are the jackals they insist on voting for in every election. Yes, Libertarians like me are socially-liberal, which does line-up rather nicely with Progressivism on a lot of issues. The difference, of course, being that Libertarians are for small government across the board, whereas Progressives want a huge overbearing Nanny State that regiments every aspect of their lives. They don't want anybody telling them who they can marry or if they can have an abortion, but they're perfectly fine with schemes that outlaw large sodas and attempt to make cigarettes available only by prescription; and to take my tax dollars to pay the salary of a portly bureaucrat whose job it is to drive around and tell people what they can and cannot grow in their own gardens.
DeleteProgressivism is a symptom of mental illness; the kind of inconsistencies that I just highlighted are just brief examples of their crazy logic. If you're socially-liberal, vote Libertarian instead or, at least, choose Democrat candidates who haven't spent their entire political lives (other than their first 4 years in the White House when they had a reelection to worry about) towing the line of a rabidly anti-gun agenda.
